Subject: RQ Digest Discussion #4 -------------------- From: Jamie O'Shaughnessy Subject: Latest.... Here's the latest news from David Hall (TotRM). Any reference to I means David, not me. - Jamie. Squawkings from Quackford No.4 - Feb 1991 Issue #5 The delays are to do with artwork alone, all articles are typed up and ready to go. The issue will be a Humakt special with a full cult write up and related articles. If anyone has any views on the cult please send them to me. Issue #6 is hotch-potch city. Made up of articles including Cult of Maran Gor, designers notes for Daughter of Darkness (next new RQ AH production), and Carving up Carver (or how Griselda returned to Pavis after the Great Chart Caper). I hope to print a couple of items from the Gloranthan Encyclopedia as well. Issue #7 HeroQuest special. I'm not sure how this will turn out, I may present a potential rules system, or just try and give guidance on a dIY system. However I do plan to feature as wide a range of heroquest exmaples as possible. Issue #8 Chaos Feature! As always, I'm on the look out for submissions, especially to the above. I also need new Rumours, new Gloranthan Holidays, Seven Favourite... articles (or more brag lines!) and letters. Next issue I'm also going to be doing my bit for fandom with a fanzine review column, so if you know of any zines then point them in my direction. As part of Issue#6 there will be some Pendragon articles. {I have protested against this - Jamie}. I'm interested how others feel about this. Ab Chaos #2 The latest news from Chaosium is that a contract has been signed with Avalon Hill which should pave the way towards some new Gloranthan releases. In the offing is the Dorastor pack by Sandy Petersen and Cults of Glorantha from Greg Stafford. In addition Greg mentions that he plans to finish Arkat's Saga, the Gloranthan novel, later this year for a 1992 release. Mark Morrison didn't get the AH RQ editorship, instead Chaosium have employed him with the responsibility of writing for Stormbringer and CoCthulhu. RuneQuest Submissions Nick Atlas (new RQ AH Editor) has asked me to remind everyone that he is still very keen to receive new submissions, especially Glorantha ones. Please remember that all RQ submissions should go to him first then they will be passed on to Greg Stafford (if they're Gloranthan). The next release will be titled Daughters of Darkness (a Gateway pack) and should be out very soon. Sun Country Another potential release for RQ is by Tales' very own Michael O'Brien. This is planned to be a scenario book covering the Sun Country area of Prax. Included in it will be the Garhound Contest and Shield Push articles from Tales#4, a long version of the Yelmalio Cult and some reprint stuff from Pavis. Michaels further adventures of Jaxarte Whyded will continue in issue five. Convulsion of the Trillion Tentacles This is a RPG convention planned for July 1992 at Leicester University in the UK. It won't be officially launched for a while yet, but I'm mentioning it because I just happen to be on the committee, and because we hope to get Greg Stafford as our guest of honour. {again - Jamie!} An area that we need help with are the proposed dates of Gencon and Origins in the USA in 1992. When we find out those dates we'll be able to know for certain if Greg can make it. Anyone help? Nomad Gods The latest on this is that Clash of Arms have had and idle conversation or two with the Chaosium people about doing it, but there are no formal plans or contracts signed. { If anyone wants to e-mail David Hall stuff, e-mail it to me as I send him a disk with the Digest on, etc. once in a while. Any contributions can be done this way. For subscription cantact David Gadbois in the US. This is now available, according to my local game store. >In the offing is the Dorastor pack by Sandy Petersen Does this mean Sandy is still doing work for Chaosium, or is this something he worked on before he left? >If anyone wants to e-mail David Hall stuff, e-mail it to me Note that in the U.S., you need to reverse the order.
