[Runequest] How many spirits can you fit in one body?

If the librarian was the possessor, his weapon skills and the like were
probably poor...nor was he likely a Storm Bull worshipper. In short, I
don't believe he would have been an adventurer.

Given that, I'd have the librarian 'kicked out'. Again, is the new spirit
really the type to even like the party? He's probably not a Storm Bull
worshipper, so he probably want to find out about his
cult/family/friends/descendants/etc....short...retire him; until his buddies
rescue him.

These are DOMINANT spirits, not passive disease spirits.

Just my opinion.

Subject: [Runequest] How many spirits can you fit in one body?

In my game a local Storm Bull initiate was scouting out Old Sun Dome (Sun
County) with some friends and decided he'd been hard done by the lack of
treasure that had been offered to him. So he went back into the library
and tried to take some items (he picked the cheapest, not the most
expensive).

The old librarian had a few things to say about this, one thing led to
another, and the initiate became possessed by the librarian's spirit - who
was most grateful to have another body.

Taking a journey to Pavis with new Yelmalio priest (taking a year's
training in said city) the Librarian-cum-Storm-Bull went into Balastor's
Barracks.

Yes, and became possessed by the axe.

So now there's three spirits in one body (a trinity!).

The current dominant spirit is Balastor
The suppressed second spirit is Acklery, the Librarian
And the suppressed suppressed third spirit is Zammon, the Storm Bull
initiate.

When will it end? When *can* it end?

At the moment I'm having fun thinking of opportunities for the other
spirits to bring themselves out of the situation. But there's nesting
problems.

For example, if Balastor picks up a Storm Bull holy item I might allow
Zammon to attempt to break free. But does this mean he engages Balastor in
spirit combat directly or does he have to shake off the control from
Ackerly first?
