Very slightly off-topic, but I've started a new gaming 'zine RPG Review
which, as the name indicates, is being distributed through this host.

The first issue (go to http://www.rpgreview.net/ and follow the links,
announce list at
http://rpgreview.net/mailman/listinfo/announce_rpgreview.net) includes
an article on Demiurgy for RuneQuest by James Haughten, an interview
with Steve Perrin and an article by Steve Perrin on the origins of
RuneQuest.

I think in particular the article on Demiurgy is particularly relevant
for this discussion list. The executive version is that demiurgy is a
technological effect that creates 'magic' items. However there is always
an associated and quite extreme loss with these items, a 'sacrifice' of
characteristics or more that must be paid in the acquisition of the
tools.

For fans of other BRP-derived systems, James has also written an article
about the Tcho Tcho for Call of Cthulhu.

Please feel free to comment, promote, subscribe or write :)
