I agree that keeps it better under control.. but it is worth while to
consider.. Maybe one might
want those at an advantage to be more overwhelming than so// perhaps
spirit combat
is too slow for you? this might be a question of taste.
Normal weapon combat can be awefully fast and dramatic in comparision
(also d3 can seem
like a couple of old ladies smacking each other with purses).
<insert favorite methods for making spirit combat "wicked" />
Does spirit combat happen enough for this to be significant? or is it
just magic resistance ?
I admit I have thought spirit combat a cool feature under used.
I think it should be a Wizards duel thing alah Ars Magica Hermetic one
on ones
The pure undivided method would make it even more significant that you
arrange the conflict for when they
ARE fatigued and you are NOT or make them think you are probably
fatigued when you are not.
. any advantage gained will indeed be more extreme... and more obviously
worth the conniving
and work to arrange it.
AND
I know people who find even dividing by 2, (especially since mp may be
changing all the time)
a distraction. Percentiles can often be "sold" to people who are
otherwize less than
disinterested in math but they do accept that percentages have meaning
and that is
a definite advantage for "broad" the saleability of BRP.
Any way just thinking about the less mechanically safe alternative and
its impact on the feel of
play. And Wondering if the Mythic Europe of Ars Magica has been
converted to ... RuneQuest
