In nomine Solis,
I Brother Ney, must pen these words in the Temple of the Sun, La
Finisterra, as the final encounter is reached. We travelled with
Yarragan the Lich and the Rood Draak Koning, the mighty frilled-necked
one, into Hell itself, to traverse across those plains of dust and fire
to the Panoptican. There were fought our way through the honey-combed
chamber of the beast set against a mighty cliff-face. Confronted by
humanoid dragons, of various states of transformation, we initially made
good progress, but were stalled as they brought forth greater dragon kin
and finally, the Blue Serpent itself who released a mighty blast of
lightning that destroyed even the Great Wraiths that the Lich had
brought with him.
It confronted the Red, and soon the two were entwined in a mighty battle
and none dared approach; even Yarragan when he attempted to wither the
Blue was slapped by its tail deep into the Panoptican. We fought well,
especially Grampian and Gwilmas, and thought that the advantage was
ours; then we saw a terror greater than we'd ever imagined - more
dragons coming towards the Panoptican. At this point to make matters
worse a smaller Blue Dragon appeared and felled Gwilmas; and we knew
that it was our original nemesis, Jose Manuel Isabello Dos Porto.
Hope soon arose as we realised that the approaching dragons were indeed
of the greed crocodilian breed, led by no less than Queen Joni herself.
This proved to turn the tide, as the Manuel was forced to yield. At the
same time, Derek Of The Sounds had made his way to the Blue's treasure
chamber and was searching those places of wealth. Just then, the Red
King was felled by a mighty bolt from the Blue Serpent. Before the
battered remains of that leader could enjoy its victory, four of Green
released their own acidic breath upon the mighty Blue, felling it. The
Green dragons then fell upon the corpses of the Red and Blue seeking for
the heartstones.
This could have meant that thet chamber was available for easy
searching; Derek had found the phylactery of the Lich who took great
pleasure in finally receiving control of its soul. The chamber included
an alter with heartstone-sized indentations; but the foolish Hobbit
sought to feel and prise about the altar, despite the fact that Garthag
the Red Wizard had noted magic upon it. Merely touching it summoned
Tiamat herself, the evil embodiment of the Rainbow Serpent. Her seven
wicked heads quickly calculated the situation around here; she breather
cold, electricity, fire and acid simultaneously and felled all within
that room. We looked upon in horror, so fast was her destruction.
I felt I had no choice; even tho' I was in Hell itself I appealed to the
Sun for a miracle. We were instantly transported to this safe place,
along with the corpus of Gwilmas and the charred remains of Derek and
Garthag - but not of Yarragan, he soul is finally at rest. I conducted
the ritual of ressurection on the bodies, and then communed with the Sun
for when Tiamet would come. I was enlightened than within two days.
Tiamat will cause untold destruction if she comes here. Joni considered
the possibility of sneaking into the Elder City in Hell, whilst Tiamat
is on the mundane plane. We are fortunate that Larqus and Ishmael are
with us for advice and magics.
The Devil herself has come. I was wrong; it was not the Blue Serpent
that was the Sand Devil. It's Tiamat.
