Message-ID: Hi everyone, Jay and Michael, say hello to Andrew... Andrew is offering to run a campaign of Questworld in 5-6 weeks, and we have a few potential players :) Questworld is an open setting designed by The Chaosium in the 80s, generally for extending RuneQuest and Basic Role Playing games (e.g., Magic World from Worlds of Wonder). I did use this list several years ago to try to get a game of SPQR (Steve Perrin Quest Rules) going but that didn't happen - probably my *least* successful attempt to start a campaign! (I've kept Gwaine on the list from the old game in a vague hope he might be interested in joining us too..) Anyway, QuestWorld is describe in a little bit of detail here: http://mail.rpgreview.net/pipermail/questworld_rpgreview.net/2009-February/000000.html I was thinking that because our game of GURPS Middle Earth (and has been running on and off for ten years!) was episodic anyway we could put that on hold whilst we do QuestWorld. Anyway, as for ruleset, Andrew has suggested RQIII. It's a good game, but we kind of did a lot of it with the Prax campaign, and iirc, it's a higher technology level (early renaissance). Other options include RQ IV, V, and VI (I'm using publication history, not the silly names the companies used to describe their own publications), or even WoW, or Basic RolePlaying (the big gold book). But really, I don't mind that much... -- Lev Lafayette, BA (Hons), GradCertTerAdEd (Murdoch), GradCertPM, MBA (Tech Mngmnt) (Chifley) mobile: 0432 255 208 RFC 1855 Netiquette Guidelines http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc1855.txt http://www.quicksales.com.au/shop/RPG-Review.aspx From superfluos at gmail.com Fri Aug 18 02:53:51 2017 From: superfluos at gmail.com (Jay Superfluous) Date: Fri, 18 Aug 2017 12:53:51 +1000 Subject: [Questworld] QuestWorld!
