This Sunday the GTC game will not be held. I need more time to
incorporate the outcomes of our playtesting so far. Instead Lev will be
running a session of his Runequest Campaign.

Subject: [Gullivers] weapon skills
Message-ID: <2025d01c987fb$596c9880$086a010a@mail2world.com>
Hi all,
I have looked over the existing weapon skills and had a first pass at
grouping them.
Very long (V): pike.
Weapons longer than the character's height
Single Handed Melee (S): ankus, bludgeon, cutlass/infantry hanger, dirk,
hunting hanger, katanna, mace, rapier, Scottish broadsword, smallsword,
wakazashi, kard.
Weapons used one handed and under the character's height in length
Brawling (B): Katar
Unarmed attacks and weapons that enhance the damage of actions normally
performed unarmed. Other non-18th century examples would be steel capped
shoes or brass knuckles.
Bow (W): bow, composite bow.
Errr. you know, bows.
Crossbow (X): stonebow
Um, crossbows.
Longarms: carbine, musket, sporting gun
Firearms over 1/3 of the character's height in length, used two handed
Double handed melee (D): executioner's sword, greatsword
weapons used with both hands and under the characters hieght in length
Pistol (P): horse pistol, pocket pistol
Cannon (C): cannons, swivel guns
Thrown (T):
Grenade (G): grenade, hand mortar
Siege Engine (E): pre-gunpowder siege engines
Anyway, should the single handed melee be spilt up? Consider ankus,
mace, dirk and hanger these do seem rather different. The category also
covers much more ground than the others.
Perhaps break up the melee groups into 1h swing, 1h thrust, 2h swing, 2h
thrust etc.

Hi all,
This Sunday's session will begin with re-allocation of character skills
based on the new rules for that process. this is NOT a complete
character rebuild so we should have time for some larger-than-life
adventuring too. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Hi,
Sorry for the confusion.
This is actually better for me and I'm really looking forward to working
through the permutations in the RQ story started by recent events.
Apologies again, I've just got a lot on and lost track. I will endevour
to make time to read my mail more thoroughly in the future.

Subject: [Gullivers] Sunday
Message-ID:
Hi all,
This Sunday will begin with a re-do of skills (only) for all characters.
this is required to realign existing PCs with the new breakdown of
weapon skills and make use of rules to ensure PCs have an appropreate
selection of skills for the setting, especially social skills.
After all characters have been updated, a (shorter) set of encounters in
Brobdingrag will follow.
There are only a few more sessions to go before completing this new
Chapter in the world of Gulliver's Travels be sure to show up explore
Brobdingrag, prevent Jonathan Gulliver from doing anything else morally
reprehensible, and help the GTC turn a profit from this risky venture.
Without you the company may face ruin!
