Gentlemen, <div><br></div><div>The following is taken from the log of Cleric <b>Belbus Glebe</b></div><div><br></div><div>8 hours until bombardment.... Blessed is the moment of respite - Here we are about to go through the highliner our beacon-finder points us towards to find Ephrael Sterns blade. Note - Keep a close eye on Syndi and Uriel - Syndi for somehow being able to understand Eldar script, and Uriel for her constantly changing inventory of mechanical gadgets. Her abilities are unique, but I fear she may invoke the ire of the worshippers of the Machine-God of Mars for her 'house made' servo-skulls. The others dont seem to possess the intellegence for deviation or rebellion.</div>
<div><br></div><div>Our first encounter with the warp-beasts thankfully, was short - Agamorr is a warrior of no equal, Mir will have to conceed this. Both have been valuable, as their strength is relied upon. Our equipment kept intermitedly fail us - the machine spirits of our auspexes seemed to have other ideas beyond performing their simple function. This proved troublesome as we were later ambushed by a group of Dark Eldar Pirates, who were howling 'Mon-keigh' from atop this seemingly well-paved cavern. We took some serious wounds during this conflict, and nearly breached the walls into the void thanks to Mir's poorly placed grenade. We noticed the Eldar (whom Agamorr tore in two) was holding an interesting conch - it seemed to be some sort of 'psychic whistle'.... These Eldar had interesting weapons, very spiky ones.... I had to pull nails out of Mir's ribs, and Uriel's greaves. Mir had the bright idea (one of few) to hold onto these weapons in case they prove useful later on.... He we are, about to enter this magnificent highliner... Agamorr and Syndi kept mentioning something about a hide-bound book....</div>
<div><br></div><div>6 hours until bombardment..... There was no choice but to deleve into the highliner - it was a nest for the Warp Beasts! Agamorr has been taken from us - his sacrifice will allow us to continue the Emperor's Work. We could see Agamorr become swallowed not by a tidal wave, but of a horde of beasts! He will be missed.</div>
<div><br></div><div>5 hours until bombardment.... What a turn of events! I knew we saw another boarding party - Inquisitor Soldevan of the Ordo Malleus sent in his own team lead by Calculus-Logi Trempman. He seems a decent man, but he looked wracked with guilt, he must be hidding something in his past. His 'underlings' are colourful enough, particularly Sergeant Forden - it turns out he and Mir once shared a trench together (before he got ripped to pieces by some horrific beast, hence his significant bionics). The rest seem like the usual band of rogues and glory-seekers we meet.</div>
<div><br></div><div>Notes - within the ships graveyard, the Black Ship 'Twilight' was jammed inside asteroid rock - dont ask me how. But the Pentagramic Wards appear intact, wereas the Hexagramic Wards are not. Also, this cavern looks well-maintained, as far as space-caverns go (!!!! I must be losing it, Emperor give me strength!)</div>
<div><br></div><div>4 hours until bombardment.... Spirits aboard the ship, this accounts for the little girl we kept seeing. I thought to release them from their torment by giving the litany of death, but they would have none of it. I will think twice before announcing our affiliation with the Inquisition- they looked the bitter sort. Silas is a dedicated ghost, even claimed to have served Ephrael Stern until her death aboard the ship. Yes, we saw her and the Nekaybrianon locked in death - Syndi was acting rather strange around this scene... Silas said it was the Liber Daemonica the Dark Eldar are after, and that we should either destroy it take it with us - Sergeant Forden's eyes widened when he saw this book.... Silas showed us the same conch Agamorr retrieved, and said "They are comming, and they know we are here! Its feeding time for the Haemonculus, his thirst for souls is never sated"...</div>
<div><br></div><div>3 hours until bombardment.... We have found the cargo hold - this is where we shall mount our defense. Lady D and Enginseer Molochan have rigged some traps for our alien-foe. Mir is bent on glory, I say we should leave whilst there is time. Sergeant Forden has vanished, and seems to have taken the Liber Daemonica with him. Syndi has discovered that she once LIVED on this ship, and that SHE was the Nekaybrianon's next target - Saving her was Ephrael Stern's last act as a mother.... This means Syndi is closer to 600 years old rather than 16.... I knew she was trouble.</div>
<div><br></div><div>3 hours post bombardment.... Damn foolhardy quest this one. The Dark Eldar came en-masse and nearly tore us to shreds! Forden has been arrested for being a traitor - He is a member of the Serrated Querry, and he KNEW our Xenos Foe!! He was on familar terms with these piratical Xenos! We are all licking our wounds aboard the Magnus Etchelion, and thanks to Agamorr we are able to do just that - Emperor be Praised, Agamorr came to us in our hour of need and sent the Haemonculus packing! His remaining hand must be charmed - his strike sent evil back to whence it came.... We returned with the sword Luminous Reproach, we saw the Twilight tear itself apart and have salvaged the Liber Daemonica, which Syndi has run off with both before we could submit our report to Inquisitor Varaak.</div>
<div><br></div><div>(End of 'Shades of Twilight' - you did it!!)</div><div><br></div><div>12 hours post bombardment.... Varaak has summoned us during our rostered sleep - it turns out Syndi is a half-Eldar - Thou Shalt Not Suffer The Xenos! And Varaak is asking us to accompany her on one last quest.... To find a lost Eldar Webway described within the Liber Daemonica, and to '<b>close the gap of Iniquity</b>', whatever that means. Thankfully the Emperor's Finest shared my disgust and revoltion - Agamorr was seething, as was I, that he assisted a Xenos to live! In this light, his wounds have become more apparent - this left arm was ripped off above the elbow, and half his face has been cleaved - yet he still wants to continue his service, without augmentation to remedy his ailments...!! He truly is an example of the Emperor's Shining Light amongst the Darkness. He is magnificent, but is a man nonetheless; he dearly missed his arm, but was holding the Dark Eldar conch is his right hand and made the comment, ' Varaak has undermined this God-Warriors ego by insisting he go along with allowing Syndi to exist - he calls this an experiment in 'Cross-Cultural' relations, and a 'scientific endeavor'. Pah! I may need to purge myself of these hands which have broken bread with Syndi, I may consider to get new ones... Ahh, I am doubly dammed... she has proven her worth, but is from tainted blood... Whether I like it or not, we are bound for Port Wander to meet some accursed Radical Inquisitor, and I am tasked to head this quest. But we dont even know there is such a fellow aboard this void-wracked place!</div>
<div><br></div><div>Emperor Forgive Me, that I may stray from His Light. My flock may travel the worn path of the wanderer, but we shall remain True. </div><div><br></div><div><b>TO BE CONTINUED</b></div><div><br></div>
