We have had games of Original Dungeons & Dragons, RuneQuest, GURPS Krononauts, the release of Gulliver's Trading Company (beta), and visits to "the Burton Club" and Jason and Argonauts (both at ACMI) and a couple of issues of RPG Review.... Gaming Timetable ================ All games start at 2pm at 110 Grey Street, East Melbourne. D&D Original ------------ Thanks to James we now have had a session of original, 1974 edition, of Dungeons & Dragons. Roll 3d6 in order to determine characteristics, pick on of three classes & etc. Our journey through a forest, past a witch, into a dungeon with exploding cultists and a giant (disembodied?) hand have all been great features. True to early D&D style we've also managed to go through quite a few characters already! The next sessions of this fine classic is on November 27th RuneQuest Rhythm of the Heat ---------------------------- Penultimate success has been achieved! With the capture of Queen Martoraz of the Sazdorf Clan and subsequent ransom for the final torch of Yelmalio's Blood and the release of Trollkin (of which only some wished to join their comrades at Rabbit Hat Farm), all that is required is the transportation of half a dozen ever-burning torches across troll-infested hinterlands into the middle of a troll complex housing some four thousand such individuals, and the conducting of a HeroQuest ritual. Easy! http://mimesisrpg.com/mailman/listinfo/runequestprax_mimesisrpg.com Next sessions are on November 6th and 20th GURPS Krononauts ---------------- The computer, once again, seems to be going crazy going on about zombies again. Again, a most peculiar link has been drawn. The lost company time-traveller, Ingrid Berkwight, disappears as "Ombre La Belle d'Bearroc" into the United States and befriends authors Washington Irving and Edgar Allan Poe in a town once known as Sleepy Hollow, where the van Meyer family have established themselves. Why is it, suggests Connor, that they seem to be so up-to-date with discoveries in dynamo technology? http://mimesisrpg.com/mailman/listinfo/krononauts_mimesisrpg.com Session on November 13th RPG Review Issue 9 ================== The Ninth Issue of RPG Review has been released! With a guest editor, this a bestiary and aliens issue with an interview with Steffan O'Sullivan, author of GURPS Bunnies & Burrows, GURPS Bestiary, GURPS Fantasy Bestiary and FUDGE, among other games. It also includes a lengthy retrospective article on Dragons and PCs for AD&D, an almost as lengthy fantasy Australia campaign for D&D 3.x (including many Australian beasts), a Mouse Guard rules/Warhammer setting crossover campaign, designer's notes for The Celestial Empire (Imperial China BRP), and a sentient species generator for the Dr. Who RPG, a movie review for Splice and much more! Get Some now! Share this link! http://rpgreview.net/files/rpgreview_9.pdf Subscribe! It's a PDF file, about 5 megabytes in size and includes a copy of novel Gulliver's Travels. http://rpgreview.net/files/gulliverstradingcompany.pdf Job Opening =========== Fantasy Flight Games have a RPG game designer job opening at their head office in Minnesota, USA.
