Heilgrund, and his military advisor Moritz Sachsen, are confronted by a large number of Posen's forces lead by the Eisenfurt herself. As Posen advanced, Sachen engaged in a succesful flanking maneuver, inflicting terrible casualties as the attacker attempts to take The Drachen Cathedral, and nearby mansions. On the north-eastern ridge, defended by a mixed force from Heilgrund and by Dietrich Proust, the attackers engage in artillery shelling, causing great damage to the beautiful buildings that lined that view (including the former home of one Redmund Erhart). As a counter-attack, Lord Bryon leads scouting forces in the midst of the artillery wrecking havoc. A futher battle erupts in the northern streets themselves, as Posen sends a penetrating force through the city, perhaps hoping to catch the Stein underdefended. By this stage Lady Drachenheim had received word of the drachen egg decided to take it out publically in the streets to inspire morale. People are astounding to hear that a drachen has been born in the city itself at such an hour and many take inspiration of this great omen. A shot is taken at Lady Drachenheim from Posen's forces, wounding her in the chest, but this only seems to inspire the people more [Roll of 45 c.f., Delacroix, Liberty Leading The People]. Not leaving anything to chance however, Offizer Axel engages in a serious of stunning ambushes inflicting terrible losses on Posen's scouts, despite being outnumbered almost four to one [60 vs 17 on strategy rolls]. In a pitched battle on one of the defending bridges, Axel himself loses his footing, and is rescued by an auxiliary who reminds the Offizer of the city's tradition concerning marriage. Returning to her duties, she shouts that he Gisela [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freiburg_B%C3%A4chle] Posen continues to press against The Drachen Cathedral district, but the location is well-defended. Even with reinforcements to almost twice as many troops, her casualties continue to mount and the line is held. Meanwhile on the ridge-line, see the success of the scouts a charge against the Posen artillery is organised, but the battle hardened soldiers are prepared for such an eventually and protect themselves in formation inflicting great losses on the Freiburg attackers. Freiburg however now has the upper hand - as the barracks reinforce to the Stein, Niklas leads the entirety of that force into the streets when it becomes known that his betrothed has been wounded. See the size of the superior force, Posen's forced engage in a savage fighting retreat, inflicting notable casualties on the Freiburg troops. Almost five thousand people lost their souls that day, in what was one of the mightiest battles on Eisen territory since the War of the Cross as some eighty thousand armed men clashed. All of the five eggs hatched that day, the smallest being one grey-white dragon. Dr. Serijo certainly has his work cut out for him as the world's expert on such creatures. A few weeks later the marriage of Lady Alice Drachenheim and Eisenfurt Niklasu Trague is held. Einsenfurt Heilgrund acts as the best man with each of the other Eisenfurts present - with the exception of Lady Posen, who sends a diplomat. Afterwards a popular service is held for the marriage of Axel and Griseda. Freiburg remains a free city, and is better than ever before. -- Lev Lafayette, BA (Hons), GradCertTerAdEd (Murdoch), GradCertPM, MBA (Tech Mngmnt) (Chifley) mobile: 0432 255 208 RFC 1855 Netiquette Guidelines http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc1855.txt http://www.quicksales.com.au/shop/RPG-Review.aspx From usekh at usekh.com Fri Dec 11 01:08:37 2015 From: usekh at usekh.com (Lachlan) Date: Fri, 11 Dec 2015 12:08:37 +1100 Subject: [7thseafreiburg] Weekend Message-ID: <566A2215.6020309@usekh.com> Anything on this weekend? if so, where?
