Finally! Message-ID: <443df01a1297ff31410df170652f1c34.squirrel@webmail.rpgreview.net> So what was happening? Number referred to locations on the main map... After hearing shots in the night, herbalist Hilda Strammbaum (36) discovers the body of Oskar Dags (74) near the Belle Bridge (29) where she ws collecting herbs. The wealthy Vendel Sorcerer has been tied to a stake mauled to death. The post-mortem reveals that Oskar was drugged unconscious (valerian), bound and gagged, smeared in dog food, and eaten alive by a pack of street dogs. Woof. Pistols are confiscated from somewhat on-edge CIA soldier Jakob Weston who was in the area and was seen drinking with Oskar that night at The Drachen's Toe (33); he had been shooting late at night, claiming he discharged his gun at a savage dog. Oskar's second wife Camilla tells the party that he had fallen out with the tenants of The Golden Belle (27), his former family home, now a brothel (and restaurent) in Erhert's rental domain run by celebrity Belle (the original) and her husband Jans Huresohn. Oskar is also angry about 5,000 Guilder's worth of Dracheneisen armour stolen from his house, which he was enchanting for a noble; Redmund Erhart. The dead man's last (unsent) letter is to Angela Huresohn, day manager of the Drachen's Toe (33), ex-wife of Jans, and Oskar's lover. Frederick, the son of Jans and Angela, also works at The Golden Belle. Further investigations discovers Oskar's diary, but it is written in Vendel. Oskar had visited the night of his death, but did not stay. Camilla had threatened Angela over the affair, but she is more angry to learn Oskar left his entire substantial estate to his daughter from the first marriage, Esme, an ambitious chef at The Golden Belle, who never seemed to want anything but money from Oskar. Belle's prot?g? and whipping boy (literally) Nikalas Eisenschmied, The Golden Belle, is appalled to discover Belle has stolen his "recipes" (food to help you "stay up all night" and other activities) for her latest book 'Wilde N?chte'. He throws a full chamber pot at her and storms out just as the party arrives. Nick is subsquently fired, obviously. Esme tells Jans she's now his landlady and wants to invest in The Golden Belle in return for a share of the business. Belle is signing books at the Marcketplatz (32). Over forty copies of the book sell, an extraordinary amount given the price. Who knew so many people could read in this city? There is a public display when Hilda accuses her of killing her son Maxmillian. As the party witnesses this an urchin reports that Esme has just dropped dead at the Golden Belle.. Unfortunately, I have some very sad news. Last week in the midst of a dellirium caused by a sudden-onset wasting disease, my sister stumbled out of our shelter in the middle of the night, and unfortunately went right under an oxen-train that was passing by.? It was very sudden, and a great shock to all of us. I wanted to let you know this as I know that she though a great deal of you; I'm sure that thoughts of you were going through her mind just before the leading hoof of the oxen train did. We all miss her terribly, but fortunately the owner of the oxen train offered to provide her with a good burial.? Unfortunately we don't know where she is buried, as he was in a hurry and couldn't stop for that long, and so said he would bury her when he got to his location, which he forgot to mention to us.? But he said that he would put flowers on the grave and everything, so I'm sure she will be fine. I hope that apart from this, this letter finds you well. Best Regards, Hans PS, whilst I don't know a great deal about sudden-onset wasting diseases, someone who does suggested that perhaps you may want to get someone just to take a quick look down below, you know, just in case bits start falling off. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... But just thinking about it, I reckon if we are going to do a proper farce, i.e, Carry On Up the Frieburg, we could make use of it.? So we have Hans, who of course I have been teaching to read and write, and pouring out my heart to, decide off his own bat to write this letter, possibly with a bit of jealousy thrown in. Of course we could then turn it in to fully Shakespearean, but to do that properly, Ulf would have to turn out to be Ulfette, dressing up as a man in order to get a job after {whatever}.? Thus she originally fell in love with me as a boy because she was a girl.? Then when I disclosed myself as a girl in love with her as a man, she obviously saw a kindred spirit, although younger, was in a bit of a quandary, so wanted to take care of me.? And thus we continue and hijinks ensue. In this not-Europe, do we also have not-fairies?? Hans can obviously be Puck, and I think we have a ready-made Bottom in my fat confused foe cum potential suitor, Redmund Erhart.? I'm thinking Jay could have the Phillostrate or Peter Quince role.? The others, not too sure about. ? ?-- Regards, Michael Cole On Saturday, 25 April 2015, 10:12, Lev Lafayette wrote: I'll accept this, but do keep in mind the letter is an escape mechanism rather than playing to the hubris.
