From lev at rpgreview.net Wed Nov 12 04:43:12 2014 From: lev at rpgreview.net (Lev Lafayette) Date: Wed, 12 Nov 2014 15:43:12 +1100 Subject: [7thseafreiburg] Introduction and characters Message-ID: <96af2bf29797468a1dc4fbe4377f317c.squirrel@webmail.rpgreview.net> Hi everyone and welcome to the 7th Sea Freiburg campaign. It's my intention to run this for a dozen sessions or so, maybe longer is interest in maintained. The first session is planned for Sunday November 30 at 2pm at 110 Victoria Street Carlton South, if that is suitable for everyone. The setting of 7th Sea is best described as "not-quite-Europe of the baroque 17th century plus sorcery". The fictional world is called Th?ah (not Earth) with the countries Avalon (Britian), Montaigne (France), Eisen (Germany), Castille (Spain), Vodacce (Italy), Ussura (Russia), Vendel/Vesten (Netherlands, Scandanavia). There's also The Empire of the Crescent Moon and Cathay, which I'm sure you can work out. A political map of the continent is as follows: http://www.alderac.com/7thsea/resources/map_theahpolitical_full.jpg You'll be starting off in Freiburg, described as follows: "Five years ago, Eisenf?rst Nicklaus Tr?gue established a new kind of city: one free of government, laws, and oppression; one where everyone was welcome. Freiburg has since become a haven for the desperate and ambitious: built on the remains of a drachen graveyard, sprawling beneath an alien watchtower, it seethes with untold corruption and countless opportunities..." In 2000, 7th Sea won the Origins Award for Best Roleplaying Game for the previous year. If you could give me a broad idea of the characters you wish to play I can slot in a background for them. -- Lev Lafayette, BA (Hons), GradCertTerAdEd (Murdoch), GradCertPM, MBA (Tech Mngmnt) (Chifley) mobile: 0432 255 208 RFC 1855 Netiquette Guidelines http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc1855.txt http://www.quicksales.com.au/shop/RPG-Review.aspx From usekh at usekh.com Wed Nov 12 05:46:23 2014 From: usekh at usekh.com (Lachlan) Date: Wed, 12 Nov 2014 16:46:23 +1100 Subject: [7thseafreiburg] Introduction and characters In-Reply-To: <96af2bf29797468a1dc4fbe4377f317c.squirrel@webmail.rpgreview.net> References: <96af2bf29797468a1dc4fbe4377f317c.squirrel@webmail.rpgreview.net> Message-ID: <5462F42F.7070603@usekh.com> Again thank you for this Lev, Sadly I have booked a few weekend trips before I knew this was happening. Trying to see some interstate friends whilst my health is still up to it. So I am away that weekend and the next ;/ Also in general Sunday is very awkward for me to get anywhere as little public transport. However as for my character I have a couple of ideas. An Eisen Drexel Swordsman mercenary/commoner. A swordsman Eisen noble, probably the panzerfaust(?) school. A Montaigne thief on the run, or a Castillian scholar. I might lean towards the Swordsmen but happy to fit in with others. Wondering if a chat room somewhere might suit? especially for days where my health is suffering it will be a lot easier and I am fairly sure I can find one somewhere to suit. What sort of a campaign will it be?? High society? Low and dirty?? Local? Global? Good? Questionable?? Is there a rough plotline or starting hook? ?-- Regards, Michael Cole On Wednesday, 12 November 2014, 15:43, Lev Lafayette wrote: Hi everyone and welcome to the 7th Sea Freiburg campaign. Class distinctions can be kind of thin on in such a place. -- Lev Lafayette, BA (Hons), GradCertTerAdEd (Murdoch), GradCertPM, MBA (Tech Mngmnt) (Chifley) mobile: 0432 255 208 RFC 1855 Netiquette Guidelines http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc1855.txt http://www.quicksales.com.au/shop/RPG-Review.aspx From lev at rpgreview.net Wed Nov 12 11:12:01 2014 From: lev at rpgreview.net (Lev Lafayette) Date: Wed, 12 Nov 2014 22:12:01 +1100 Subject: [7thseafreiburg] Introduction and characters In-Reply-To: <5462F42F.7070603@usekh.com> References: <96af2bf29797468a1dc4fbe4377f317c.squirrel@webmail.rpgreview.net> <5462F42F.7070603@usekh.com> Message-ID: <892aa6ce69ea8a1faf09a59a17d56bc7.squirrel@webmail.rpgreview.net> On Wed, November 12, 2014 4:46 pm, Lachlan wrote: > Sadly I have booked a few weekend trips before I knew this was > happening. The rest of us can continue with Yugoslav Civil War Werewolf game. I think Michael lives on the way to near your neck of the woods so maybe could be arranged transport-wise. > However as for my character I have a couple of ideas. Sure we can possibly arrange something like. Even if you're playing remotely via Google Hangout... :) -- Lev Lafayette, BA (Hons), GradCertTerAdEd (Murdoch), GradCertPM, MBA (Tech Mngmnt) (Chifley) mobile: 0432 255 208 RFC 1855 Netiquette Guidelines http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc1855.txt http://www.quicksales.com.au/shop/RPG-Review.aspx
